Funny 50th Birthday Poem - How To Create A Personal Gift

Main Content No Comments »

It can be extremely difficult to find the perfect words when looking for a funny 50th birthday poem. Finding a funny 50th birthday poem that will not only make someone laugh but is special, personal and uplifting can be quite a quest.

If you are going to write the poem yourself try to concentrate on funny aspects of the persons personality such as their annoying habits, embarrassing moments or a funny catch phrase they use over and over again. Combining these qualities will help you build a funny 50th birthday poem.

There are of course people that are willing to create a funny 50th birthday poem on your behalf. All you need to do is find an online poet, send him or her as much information as you can and they will produce a funny 50th birthday poem for you that is both unique and personal.

An example of a funny 50th birthday poem would be

Hike It!
I’d like to tell you a story,
I think it’ll be one you like,
because it’s about a special person,
and a rather special hike.

Life has plenty of valleys,
with many a mountain to climb,
sometimes its hard to find the track,
at others its hard to find the rhyme.

But you are such a wonderful person,
you’ve risen to the challenges in your life,
a successful career, a beautiful home,
you’re a caring Mom and a loving wife.

But life doesn’t always go to plan,
you can get stuck in a crevice or two,
but you’ve always kept calm and collected,
you’ve always known just what to do.

And we all miss your Mom so very much,
life can’t always be a calm and placid sea,
but it’s nice that you felt close to her,
when climbing (and rhyming) your poetry.

You are a genuine and caring person,
you’ve been there when it mattered the most,
we all know that we can rely on you,
you’re like a dependable leaning post.

You’ve been both judge and jury,
counselled many a case over so many years,
you’ve waded through rivers of emotion,
and probably sailed across a lake of tears.

It must have been hard for you,
reading those lines each and every day,
and then to come home each night,
and not act out the words in the play.

And now your Fifty years are up,
that’s about 17,250 days,
but you’re still growing so much,
you’re growing in so many exciting ways.

And you’re a bit of a roamer,
everybody knows that you love to rove,
but beware that two pots and an absent mind,
usually make for a very hot and smoky stove !

And we wonder at your wandering,
off you go when the weather is fine,
wandering into a rock or two,
or wandering right across the line !

So we wanted to wish you the best,
that is what these lines are for,
just know that we love and care for you,
and wish you at least another fifty more.

And as this sentiment comes to an end,
we hope indeed that you like it,
because we have one last wish for you:
Go chase your dream, GO Hike It!

Once you have written your funny 50th birthday poem whether it be for you friend, a parent or sibling consider presenting it in a card or something a bit fancy rather than just handing them a piece of paper.

Allen Jesson writes for a site that specializes in helping you find a funny 50th birthday poem. You may decide to write your own funny 50th birthday poem or have the funny 50th birthday poem written for you.

Buy Him One Of The Top Gifts For His Birthday

Main Content No Comments »

His birthday only comes around once a year, so if you want to buy him one of the top birthdya gifts, you may as well be prepared to spend a bit of money

Quality doesn’t come cheap, and if something is popular right now there’s a good chance that it’s going to be a little more expensive than your average gift.

So how can you find what the top birthday gifts for him are?

A good idea is to use the big online reatilers as a research tool to find what is selling well right now.

Take Amazon for example - Amazon is the perfect place to begin when trying to get ideas for gifts. They have best seller lists for all the various categories.

So its simply a matter of knowing roughly what sort of gifts he’ll be interested in; finding that category; and then having a browse of the different items that are selling well at the moment.

For example, maybe you are aware that he loves any sort of electronic products. What you would do first is type Amazon best sellers into Google, which will give you the link to the best sellers page.

Then you simply scroll down the page until you find ‘Electronics Bestsellers, and browse through the products that are hot right now. The lists are updated on an hourly basis

You can do exactly the same sort of thing with other large websites like eBay - they all offer up information about what the best sellers are as a way of providing you with suggestions and increasing the odds of you opening your wallet and spending money with them.

Ask At Popular Retailers

If you’re more of a hands on sort of person, head down to your local shopping mall and find a few stores that stock the sort of products that you know he’s interested in.

Locate a staff member from within the store and find out from them what products are selling well. If they seems too salesy, head somehere else. But if they genuinely seem to be providing you with good info, take note and make a decision based on that info.

Ask His Friends

Most guys have fairly common interests with their friends. So asking them what they think is a top birthday gift idea at the moment is sure to raise a few great possibilities that you can choose from.

Listen To Him

I know sometimes it may be hard to listen as he babbles on about his latest obsession, but paying attention at the right time might actually deliver into your lap the very best gift ideas possible.

As a last resort simply ask him - guys tend to be more practical about the whole gift thing. They’d rather have some input and get something they want, than end up with something that they tell you they like…when in fact it goes straight to the back of the cupboard.

Finding Her A Birthday Gift At The Last Minute

Main Content No Comments »

You are almost out of time my friend…if you’re here it means you’re looking for a last minute birthday gift for her and you obviously have no idea what to get. Am I right?

I’m going to say this right up front - I can’t promise you’ll find the answer here, but hopefully you’ll at least leave armed with some ammunition.

Re-gift

This one’s a little bit tongue-in-cheek (almost an homage to Seinfeld)…but before you disregard it entirely, let me assure you - there is actually an ethical way of making this work.

There are three keys points that need to be covered:

1) The gift needs to have genuine value 2) It needs to be completely unused and still in its original packaging 3) You need to have a genuine belief the recipient will appreciate the gift more than you do.

If you were given a gift in the past, it is still sitting at home and it meets the above 3 criteria then re-gifting may actually work in your situation.

Make sure that it is not well known that someone else gave you this item as a gift and you shouldn’t have any problems.

The Group Gift

Ask other friends if they have bought anything and offer to help pay for the item. Just be sure not to go about bragging that you came up with the idea for the gift - that’s a great way to turn friends against you.

This one obviously doesn’t really work if you are in a relationship with her.

Online Tickets

Women love receiving gifts that they perceive as having had some thought put into them. A great way to cover this is to give her tickets to something that is playing in the future - if it’s a play, a concert or a comedy performance.

If you come across a show or concert being held in the near future that you think she’d enjoy, its easy to go online it book it straight away.

Things don’t come much better than that when you’ve left it to the last minute to find her a birthday gift.

Dinner

The restaurant meal is always great to have as a standby. This one works even better if you can convince a few friends to come along and tell her that you have had it planned for weeks. Well a few days at least.

There are plenty of options for you if you’re looking for a last minute gift for her. Just take a minute to think about what she likes and try and match that with a gift that you can purchase or book straight away.

You may need to hit the local shopping mall and aimlessly wander between stores waiting for inspiration to hit…and it will eventually. You just need to be a bit patient.

Sentimental Birthday Gifts For Him

Main Content No Comments »

Sometimes a guy will surprise you and show a sentimental side that you never thought existed. If you happen to have found such a guy, then finding a sentimental birthday gift for him can be one of the greatest presents he ever receives.

So what do guys get sentimental about?

If you have a long history with the guy, the first thing he might get sentimental about are some of the memorable moments you’ve spent together.

A great example of this would be that perfect holiday you had two years ago where you spent 14 magical nights cruising the waters of the Caribbean.

Try and think of a way to find a gift that evokes these memories. Do you have any photos from that trip which you could get blown up and framed?

Maybe there was a particular exotic dish that he really enjoyed - try and find a restaurant in town that is well renowned for exactly that dish.

Its not all about you!

Guys tend to get sentimental about sports - hard as that may be to believe. I know my partner has great memories from some of the sporting trips he has taken with his mates.

If there’s one in particular that he seems to mention more often than others (and you were paying enough attention that you actually remember what it was), maybe try and find some sort of gift that encapsulates that sporting moment.

Sports memorablia is great for this. Something that he will be proud to hang on the wall and tell stories about. If you’re not sure of exactly what the best type of memorabilia is ask his mates. They’re sure to know.

Go deep into his past

Sometimes we can all get a bit sentimental about a certain place where we spent time as a child. If you don’t know of such a place for him, get in touch with some of his family and do a bit of research.

Maybe you’ll learn of a favourite holiday spot that he hasn’t been to in twenty years. A surprise trip there would be a wonderfully sentimental birthday gift for him.

It’s also a good way for you to find out a little more about him that maybe you didn’t know

Finding him a gift with sentimental value is always going to take a little more work than your regular gift. But if you care enough about him, this work will always be worth it.

Baby Gift Baskets For Baby’s First Birthday Are a Great Gift Idea

Main Content No Comments »

Baby birthdays are great occasions to be a part of. Celebrations are the greatest joys of life, and birthdays, especially the baby’s first birthday, can be one of the most joyous celebrations of one’s life. Planning a birthday can be a cumbersome job, and even more cumbersome can be deciding a gift for the baby. Birthday and baby gift baskets are one of the most preferred mediums of gifting, especially on birthdays. Gift baskets for baby are in such a lot of demand because of the flexibility they provide you in terms of the choice of gifts and ingredients you can add to them. Gifts are a joy to the mom and baby gift baskets are especially loved by the parents.

If you are the host of a baby birthday party, or a baby shower, then you would have to decide on the menu in the first place. Apart from the menu, the time of the day at which you want to throw the party matters the most. The menu would follow subsequently. The menu would depend on whether your party is a light brunch party, a heavy tea party or simply an all-formal dinner party followed by a cocktail. Once you have decided upon the timing of the party, and what kind of food you want to serve, its time to narrow down on the menu.

There are two ways in which the menu can be decided. You would either cook yourself or you would hire a professional catering service, if you are planning to host a party for a large number of people. For self-cooking parties, it is important that you make sure you would be able to cook everything with perfection. Stick to the theme of the party, and keep the food and beverage supplies adequate. Easy to cook and easy to store- tinned foods should be preferred, but at the same time it should be ascertained that the quality of food doesn’t go down, and that the food is yummy and scrumptious for the guests as well. For a tea party, you might have to serve adequate snacks along with tea. For a brunch/dinner party, you should focus more on the main course meals.

Vegetarianism is on a high these days, therefore, it is always suggested to have at least on or two pure-vegetarian dishes on the menu cards, to serve such guests. Health conscious foods, soy foods and low-calorie beverages should also be kept as a back up as some one might just ask for a diet coke in place of a standard coke. All such eventualities should be looked at while preparing the menu and cooking it. Cups, mugs, plates and other such adjuncts should be stacked in order. The serving should also be given special care.

For those who decide to hire professional caterers, making sure that the caterers give a good deal, have adequate waiters to serve people and that the caterers are actually cooking good food should be on the top of the agenda. Caterers do take away the pain of cooking and serving, but they would need some assistance and would definitely cost you almost double of what it otherwise would have.

First Birthday Gifts That Will Be Unique

Main Content No Comments »

It is the baby’s first birthday and twelve exhausting months of joy, concern, worry, and devotion have come and gone. Whether you are a parent, a godparent, friend, or simply a well meaning member of the family, a baby’s first ever anniversary is a cause for much celebration.

Choosing the right gift to mark that event is simpler than perhaps you might expect. In giving a unique gift, many parents are choosing to mark the occasion, not necessarily as an opportunity to notice the birthday, but to commemorate the young life’s success so far. If that seems over blown, then consider how much a baby has grown in just twelve months time, compared to how little adults change in the same time period.

Babies do a lot of their development in the first twelve months, and experts say that many personality traits manifest for the first time during the baby’s earliest weeks. The baby’s made a year and that alone is an accomplishment. One gift giving approach, especially apt for godparents and friends of the family, is giving a personalized gift that will mark the occasion of the birth with some thing that can be passed down as a keep sake.

An engraved spoon or personalized dinner plate, for example, can be used for years to come, and remain handy for the baby’s children. Other types of personalized gifts include quilts, step stools, and baby chairs. These make lovely additions to the nursery and remain useful for future little brothers and sisters that may arrive in the future.

Another gift very similar to the personalized keepsake is a custom made scrap book or frame. Scrap booking has become one of the hottest hobby trends in recent years, and chronicling a baby’s first twelve months is a thoughtful and loving gift to give parents that were perhaps other wise preoccupied to organize their baby photos. Like the keep sake ornament, it can be saved and passed down as a family heirloom.

Scrap books are relatively inexpensive, and can be customized and decorated according to the giver’s taste and time investment. Like the scrap book, customized photo frames are an excellent gift idea. A frame with two pictures, one of the infant newly arrived home, and the next of the child at twelve months, personalized with their name and birth date, makes an endearing gift that parents will love.

Another possibility is a combination of the practical and sentimental. For example, a combination personalized photo frame and blanket set is functional, yet it provides for a keep sake as well. Similarly, a frame and shawl set provides the functionality of a multi purpose garment with the nostalgia of a remembrance of when the baby was young.

As always, the personalizing touch of a gift is a great way to take a gift that is already memorable and turn it into some thing unique. Most personalization, too, can be done quickly and without great expense, and is usually offered by the gift merchant.
